The annual Sheilah Winn Shakespeare competition kicked off at Napier Boys’ High School on the evening of 31 March and included two Karamu High School groups.
The student-directed group, directed by Year 13 Ria Loveder, put on an original and compelling interpretation of a segment from Macbeth, which won them the competition. The group, consisting of Ria Loveder, Stephen Clothier, Connor Findlay and Callum Reeve have won themselves the chance to compete in the national finals of the Sheilah Winn competition held over Queen’s Birthday Weekend in Wellington.
