Jubilee Sculpture

For the last two years Karamu High School has undertaken the largest building project since the school was opened in 1962. 75% of the school has either been rebuilt or refurbished. The project is on course to be completed and an official opening is planned for the jubilee weekend.

Part of the new landscaping will involve the unveiling of the Jubilee Sculpture. Prominent artist and ex Karamu student, Mr Jacob Scott has generously designed a uniquely Karamu sculpture which will sit prominently in the grounds of the new school as a gift from the pupils, staff and families of the last 50 years. Please Click Here to view an artist’s impression of the Jubilee Sculpture.

This will be an impressive sculpture costing approximately $50 000. A fundraising drive has begun and we ask all of our community to consider sponsoring this jubilee project. We have had a great start to our fundraising for the sculpture. The Jubilee Committee are extremely grateful for the generosity shown from our ex-students and school community. Please Click Here to view current list of donors.
