Three Karamu students representing New Zealand during the July holidays were fare-welled at assembly during the week.
Strickland Young (Year 11) goes to Los Angeles to dance as part of a New Zealand talent team, competing at the World Championship of performing arts. He was selected after competing in the Aim to Fame competition in Auckland in May. James Fulford (Year 12) goes to Wales as part of the New Zealand Junior Clay Target Shooting team. He has qualified over a number of events for his place in the team. Aimee Fisher, who is part of the Gen-i High Performance Academy, goes to the Czech Republic to represent New Zealand at kayaking. She has represented New Zealand on a number of previous occasions.
