Chamber Music Success
For the second year in a row, a chamber music group from Karamu High School has won the Hawke's Bay Secondary Schools’ Chamber Music Competition.
This year the competition was run over three days as fifty nine groups performed from nearly all high schools in the region.
After all groups were viewed and judged by the adjudicators, eight finalists were selected to play on the finals night at the Century Theatre in Napier.
Of the three groups entered, Karamu had two groups make the final eight: Penta-Fused and the eventual winners, Single Gentlemen.
Congratulations must go to the members of Single Gentlemen for winning such a keenly contested competition. In the case of flautist, Olivia Campion, and pianistm, Stephen Clothier, this is their second successive year of wining this event.
